-flowers for lydia-

the flowers for lydia are always free
swinging in the satin breeze
in a blue dress as pale as the sky
in the gale periwinkle ribbons, they flap and they fly
the dulcet frame of her face upholds two stars
the eyes that twinkle when viewed from afar
you see her smile, you see her laugh
but you don't see her wicked, spun full of wrath
her simple pleasure is the jewel you so seek
and the flowers of lydia are always sweet

she's reading a book, or versing a rhyme
any way you see her, she's not victim to time
why is it so, this angel of youth
is so close in distance yet seems so aloof?
there the wind blows wistful through her hair
and she laughs again care for no care
and we smile too, finally realizing our days may be bleak,
but the flowers for lydia are always sweet.

fly (lydia's song)

if little girls had wings and could fly,
i'd soar with the faeries of midnight.
and if i could catch the moon, i'd try
then hang it in my room as my nightlight.
