-A Shared Curse-

In books and dreams,
there are sisters of mine
who feel the same agony of life,
A book gone burning
into flames
before our chapters
have yet been written,
A choking fairy not understanding
cynicism or banality
tossed aside without care.

The Lady of Shalott,
Elaine of Ascalot,
the lady mermaid...
the child Eponine from
'Les Mis',
the lonely siren
who drowns the sailors
through her beckoning call
of despairity and fear
of being alone.
Abandoned by my princes,
I have nothing but
rubies from my
Loving Mother,
now long gone...

Have I not a lovely face?
Why, oh why,
tell me, my fair Mother,
if you can hear me,
why do I share with my sisters
such a fate?
Have I not a lovely face?
